A Letter From Grandpa - A Common Sense Discussion of Creation vs. Evolution - Part 1 by John Woidke
Excerpt: "My Dear Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren, ... I would like to discuss this "theory" of evolution with you. It is important for your eternal well-being that you understand what "evolution" is because you will be confronted by it throughout your life.

A Case Study: The Creationism of Hugh Ross and Reasons to Believe (hereafter, referred to as RTB).
This paper is meant to give the reader a broad overview of some of the more significant claims of Hugh Ross and RTB. As we proceed, the reader should understand that, due to space limitations of this paper, many details will be omitted. I intend to offer a distinctly confessional Lutheran assessment whenever applicable, as I believe that a distinctly confessional Lutheran approach is sorely lacking in the contemporary creationist movement. It is also my intent to strive, wherever possible, to keep Hugh Ross' purely scientific assertions separate from his theological assertions, or, in the very least, to make this distinction obvious to the reader. I realize that his theological position can and does influence many of his scientific conclusions. However, in order to make appropriate Scriptural application, the creationist must always be aware of that which has its foundation in Scripture and that which does not.

Excerpt: "The coelacanth fish is just one of hundreds of examples of what are referred to as "living fossils." The so-called living fossils are not a problem for Bible-believing scientists, but they are a puzzle, a hard to explain enigma, for secular researchers who accept the theory of evolution, and who believe that the earth is millions and billions of years old."
Description
Certainly the Bible's creation account must be accepted by faith alone "creation ex nihilo" in six consecutive 24 hour days, Adam and Eve, the fall into sin, etc. However, this is not the same thing as demonstrating that nothing in science really contradicts the creation account. Much of God's creation can also be observed as we study the universe using scientific methods.
This opinion piece is based on a presentation delivered to the WELS Metro Milwaukee Teachers' Conference in March, 2010.
Description
A. Thoroughly and persistently distinguish between scientific 1 issues and theological 2 issues. B. Clearly distinguish between what the Bible says and, especially, what the Bible does not say. C. Clearly and fully understand the definitions of terms which are being used.
Description
In summary, everyone, both the creationist and the evolutionist, is biased in his examination of the evidence. The creationist has a religious belief that there is a Creator God. The evolutionist has a religious belief that there is not a Creator God. Scientific investigation can be used to examine evidence in light of the creationists’ faith-based world view or in light of the evolutionists’ faith-based world view. The creation/evolution debate is a competition between two incompatible faith-based world views.

The Flood in the Light of the Bible, Geology, and archaeology by Dr. Alfred M. Rehwinkel 1968/1951 by CPH
How can we explain the coming together of all the animals and birds from all parts of the world at one time? How was it possible for eight people to feed and provide drink for all the different animals in the Ark for over a year? How was it possible for them to clean the Ark? Where did all the water come from? Is there actually enough water on our planet to cover the entire earth? What became of all the water when the Flood subsided? Did the Flood waters rise to an elevation to cover such lofty heights as Pike's Peak, Mount Everest, Mount McKinley?

Review of Bill Maher's Religulous - Part 2 Review by Jeffrey Stueber
Around September of last year, there was an interesting occurrence in the world of media. The movie An American Carol ridiculed the American left while the movie Religulous criticized religion - all religions. One could, if one wished, get theatrical whiplash after viewing this unique potpourri of left and right thought.

Review - Ben Stein's Expelled - No Intelligence Allowed Review by Jeffrey Stueber
I still find this movie useful, but it must be considered when bracketed with some of the more critical sites I mention above. What this movie also reveals is that evolutionists would be wise to not appear on camera in a movie that is willing to ask whether evolution is really true.

A Universe Built for Us - A Science Magazine's Surprising Admission by Warren Krug
A UNIVERSE BUILT FOR US. Printed in large bold letters, this was the title of a magazine article containing a surprising admission. This article didn't appear in a creationist or intelligent design magazine. Amazingly, it could be found instead in the December, 2008 pro-evolution Discover magazine beginning on page 52.
